PRP / PRF Treatments
Why PRP/PRF?
PRP/PRF, or “Liquid Gold” as we like to call it, is the perfect solution to stimulate cell growth within the body. The patient’s blood is drawn, processed, and then used for treatment. The amazing benefits of PRP and PRF in Scottsdale can be used to stimulate hair growth, diminish the appearance of scarring, encourage the body’s production of collagen, and much more.
PRP
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is produced from your blood. It is a concentration of platelets, which circulate through your blood and are critical for blood clotting. Platelets and the liquid plasma portion of the blood contain many factors that are essential for cell recruitment, multiplication, and specialization.
PRF
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is a portion of blood that contains platelets with healing and growth factors. PRF is spun in a centrifuge at low G-force to recover a greater number of platelets than past treatment options. More platelets allow for quicker tissue regeneration and growth and a great treatment outcome.
PRF is one of the most natural ways to induce collagen. You can use PRF in either an injection or with microneedling. Platelet-rich fibrin is second-generation PRP platelets, and leukocytes are present to accelerate the healing process of soft and hard tissue.
PRP vs. PRF
Platelet-rich plasma injections and PRF are both incredible regenerative substances derived from a patient’s own blood. The main difference between these substances is in their creation process.
In order to separate the blood into layers, it needs to be centrifuged. White blood cells and stem cells, which are heavier concentrated platelets, tend to accumulate near the bottom of the test tube, whereas platelets, which are lighter, tend to accumulate at their highest concentration at the top.
To make PRF, the blood is spun at a slower speed than it would be for platelet-rich plasma therapy, leaving the blood layers more intact. Lower spin speeds put less stress on the red blood cells, which preserves the treated platelet layer’s white blood cell and stem cell populations.
As a result, more healing agents are present in PRF than in PRP. This improves its ability to create effective results and assist in medical concerns like muscle injuries or chronic tendon injuries.
In comparison to PRP, PRF also requires less blood to be drawn.

Boosting a Treatment with PRP/PRF
A PRP/PRF treatment can be added to any skin treatment, like microneedling, Vivace, and Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling. This add-on boosts collagen stimulation, enhances results, and speeds up recovery time.
Microchannels allow PRP/PRF to penetrate deeply into the tissues, greatly increasing its efficacy. As a result, more severe skin issues can be effectively addressed.
Because microneedling, Vivace, Morpheus8, and PRP/PRF all increase collagen production, boosting your treatment with PRP/PRF is the perfect way to achieve optimal outcomes.
- PRF/PRP Add-On Treatment Cost: Boost any of your skin treatments with PRP/PRF for $300.
Am I a Good Candidate for PRP/PRF?
The best candidates for PRP and PRF are clients who want to improve their overall skin health. PRP injections and PRF are excellent options for those who want to boost their skin health from within.
Since PRP and PRF utilize the patient own body’s platelets, they may not be effective for people with certain blood-related medical conditions.
Individuals with active skin infections should fully treat the skin condition before considering PRP/PRF.
Your PRP/PRF Consultation
A PRP/PRF consultation will begin with a conversation about your appearance goals and complete medical history. After confirming your eligibility, we may recommend PRP treatment/PRF pairing with microneedling, Vivace, or Morpheus8 RF microneedling. We will then discuss the treatment process, timeline, and aftercare.
Before your appointment, you will need to stop taking NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) for at least one week.
Your Treatment Session
During your treatment, a sample of your blood will be collected and then processed in the lab to create PRP or PRF. The selected areas for treatment will then be prepared. Local or topical anesthesia will be administered to numb the pain in the region.
Next, the selected treatment will be performed. If PRP/PRF is being included as an add-on for microneedling, Vivace, or Morpheus8 treatment, the chosen device will be passed across the skin of the area for even treatment. Once the microchannels have been created in the skin tissues, the PRP injection or PRF will be administered. It will penetrate into the skin layers for deep renewal.
PRP/PRF Aftercare
There will not be a major recovery period or downtime following a PRP/PRF treatment. Do not wash your face in the first 24 hours. Take a break from applying all lotions, oils, and makeup. You can resume your skincare routine after 24 hours.
Avoid applying a cold or hot compress to the injection sites for 72 hours after the treatment. Refrain from saunas and baths, as well. The targeted areas must also be protected from sun exposure after your session to avoid sun damage.
