PDO Thread Services

At The Perfect Dose in Scottsdale, PDO thread lift services are frequently performed to restore a more youthful facial appearance. The PDO thread lift in Scottsdale not only provides a visible lifting effect but also works to encourage healthier, more elastic skin.

PDO THREADS

PDO threads are made of dissolvable sutures that can be placed in the skin to gently and subtly lift sagging skin tissue. Additionally, PDO threads stimulate increased collagen production over time, which helps to reduce and prevent visible signs of aging.

PDO thread lifting can be an ideal treatment approach for patients with mild skin laxity and early signs of aging throughout the face. This minimal downtime procedure is most often used to rejuvenate the jawline, cheeks, neck, and eye area.

A PDO thread lift provides natural and subtle enhancement to the face, tightening loose skin and smoothing away wrinkles. It also allows you to avoid the extensive downtime that usually comes with more invasive surgical procedures.

What are PDO threads?

PDO Threads stimulate collagen and are used to lift and sculpt the shape of your face. Thread lifts use a medical-grade suture material called polydioxanone. These sutures are FDA-approved and have long been used when performing medical procedures like cardiac surgery. The threads are very thin and can be placed in the desired areas of the face using a very thin needle or cannula. The PDO threads are inserted into the deep dermis to tighten sagging skin. There are two types of threads:

Barbed threads: These types of threads are ideal for lifting sagging skin. The barbs ensure the thread grasps underlying tissues to pull the skin tight. The barbs also help to further stimulate the production of collagen which will help to tighten and firm the skin.

Smooth: These are like spanks for your face. Smooth threads have no barbs and are used to tighten skin and stimulate collagen. They can also be added to lip filler to increase longevity and make the lip borders extra sharp. If the areas of the face you want to treat do not need lifting but you would like them to have a tighter and more youthful appearance, smooth threads may be your ideal choice.

FAQs:

When can you expect to see results?

Results are instant but will become more apparent within a day or two of getting the PDO thread lift, around the time when the swelling subsides. You will see enhanced results within three weeks, and improvement will continue over the next three to six months.

How many treatments are needed?

In most cases, patients need one PDO thread lift treatment consisting of multiple threads . Many also choose to extend the procedure’s effectiveness by getting annual maintenance treatments.

Is it safe?

A PDO thread lift is a low-risk procedure because it is minimally invasive. It is FDA approved for its safety and efficiency . PDO threads have been used for decades for different medical applications, proving their safety.

Am I a Good Candidate for a PDO Thread Lift?

People who want to address signs of facial aging without undergoing a surgical procedure may benefit from the PDO thread lift technique. In general, the procedure is excellent for almost anyone who wants to tighten loose skin and improve skin texture.

If you want to address fine lines and wrinkles or mild to moderate sagging below your chin or jawline, you may undergo a PDO thread lift. It is important to have realistic treatment expectations. Men and women in their 30s or older with mild to moderate sagginess, wrinkles, and lines in the face, forehead, or neck are suitable candidates.

However, a PDO thread lift may not be ideal for people with delicate, thin, or poor skin volume. It may have less dramatic results in older patients or those showing advanced signs of aging, making a traditional full facelift surgery a more suitable option. People with certain skin conditions may not be good candidates for a thread lift.

WHICH PDO THREAD IS RIGHT FOR ME?

The best way to determine which PDO thread is right for you is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Herzog at The Perfect Dose. The consultation will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions about the treatment and let Dr. Herzog know what specific issues you want to address. From there, they can let you know which threads can provide you with the results you are looking for.

Areas to be treated:

  • Full-face thread lift
  • Brow lift
  • Lower facelift
  • Non-surgical nose job with PDO threads

What to expect with Threads?

One of the best aspects of PDO thread lifts is that they just take 15 to 30 minutes. A topical numbing agent or local anesthetic will be administered to the treatment site prior to beginning treatment. The needle used in this treatment is so fine that it will not cause discomfort.

The PDO threads treatment will begin once the anesthesia has taken effect. PDO threads are placed using blunt-tipped needles known as cannula. The barbs on the threads serve as anchors as the skin is raised upwards after being implanted into the proper layer of skin tissue. The superfluous threads are then snipped off.

PDO Thread Lifts are safe and generally painless. The FDA has approved this procedure for safety and effectiveness. You can even go home immediately after the treatment.

You can leave the clinic within minutes after the procedure. PDO threads are a non-surgical alternative to a facelift. You may experience some swelling and discomfort post-procedure. Thread Lifts may take three to six months for collagen and elastin to rebuild and lift your face. Our team will go over what to expect during your recovery following your PDO Thread Lift procedures.

PDO Thread Lift Aftercare

Recovery time and downtime are very minimal after this treatment. To avoid accidentally dislodging the thread, avoid scratching your face in the week following your treatment. For the first few weeks, you should also avoid heavy lifting and excessive facial movements

Sleeping on your side, hard exercise, and sauna visits must be avoided for one to two weeks after your PDO thread lift procedure. It is also advised to sleep with your head raised using a cushion that will prevent you from rolling onto your face in the middle of the night.

There are a few other things you should avoid after the treatment. Avoid putting on facial cream or makeup for 48 hours, chewing gum for two weeks, and massaging, exfoliating, or scrubbing your skin for three weeks. Do not get any dental treatments for  two weeks after getting the PDO thread lift.

HOW MUCH WILL MY PDO THREAD LIFT COST?

During your consultation, our team will let you know what the cost of your PDO Thread Lift will be. The price of your treatment will depend on the type of thread lift being performed and other variables that can be discussed.
