Perfect Dose
Kybella Services
The Perfect Dose offers Kybella to help you get rid of excess fat under your chin without relying on surgical procedures. Let’s face it: there’s no such thing as “targeted weight loss,” no matter how intense your workouts are or how strict your diet is. Kybella destroys fat cells for good, making it highly sought after by Scottsdale patients.
What is Kybella?
Kybella is the first FDA-approved injectable treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness or “double chin.”
Kybella is a deoxycholic acid injectable that is placed directly into the submental fat and starts to dissolve the fat cells immediately, resulting in a slimmer chin and tightening of the surrounding tissue. Typically, patients require 2-4 vials per treatment– multiple treatments are encouraged for the best results. The most common off-label treatment area for Kybella is bra fat, but it can also be used on back fat, belly fat, love handles, inner and outer thighs, inner and outer arms, and jouls. If you can pinch it… we can Kybella it.
- Time: About 1 hour
- Cost: $650 per vial (typically 2-4 vials per treatment)

WHAT TO EXPECT:
During your Kybella treatment, multiple injections will be administered into the target subcutaneous fat in the area under the chin. The injection sites will be marked for increased precision. If you are sensitive to pain, a topical numbing agent may be administered beforehand to prevent discomfort.
The exact number of injections depends on the amount of fat in the area being treated. Each treatment is tailored to address your aesthetic goals. The total number of sessions also depends on your goals, but sessions are generally spaced one month apart and should not exceed six treatments.
AREAS TO BE TREATED:
Kybella is typically used for the submental area, or under the chin. However, it can also be used to treat other areas of the body where excess fat tends to gather. These off-label applications of Kybella destroy the excess fat cells in those areas.
IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR KYBELLA INJECTIONS
Most patients are ideal candidates for Kybella. Good candidates for this treatment are patients who want to experience cosmetic improvement without undergoing surgery. If you have a skin infection in the target area, you may not be advised to undergo this minimally invasive procedure until the infection has been resolved. While Kybella is a nonsurgical procedure, patients who do not meet the requirements could experience nerve injury and subsequential facial muscle weakness– it is better to reschedule cosmetic treatments rather than rush into them.
YOUR CONSULTATION
An initial consultation at The Perfect Dose will include a physical examination of your target areas. Photographs may be taken for before-and-after comparison. Your medical history will be reviewed to assess your compatibility and any potential risk factors.
Discuss your current medications, underlying conditions, and previous treatments or surgeries. You must let our skincare expert know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to conceive soon.
An individualized treatment plan will be developed to achieve your aesthetic goals. The process of destroying fat cells will be discussed thoroughly, including recovery/aftercare directions. If you have any questions about the cosmetic procedure, our skincare expert will provide you with the answers so you can make an informed decision.
How to prepare for a kybella treatment
Kybella injections can cause temporary swelling and bruising after the treatment. This is normal and should go away in 5 to 7 days. Because of these side effects, it is highly recommended to avoid all medications, supplements, or lifestyle choices that could result in aggravated swelling or bruising afterward.
Avoid taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications like Aspirin or herbal supplements like Vitamin E or omega 3 for at least a week before treatment. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol to get the full benefits of a Kybella treatment.
You can take Arnica to reduce bruising and swelling, as long as it is safe for your overall health. People with active heart disease or uncontrolled high blood pressure should explore other medications aside from Arnica.
If hair is on your chin, it is best to shave before your Kybella appointment. If you tend to get irritation from shaving, shave at least 48 hours before your appointment. You should also note that while Kybella is an FDA-approved treatment designed to dissolve fat, the device has its limitations, and cannot treat cases of severe fat. Kybella can restructure your chin’s appearance, but it is not a reconstructive surgery, so it is normal to need two to four treatments to see significant improvements in body mass.
Physically active people should schedule their workout at least 3 to 5 days after submental fat treatment. Avoid sun, heat, or any exposure that can cause you to sweat excessively for 3 to 5 days to ensure that Kybella will last and work its full benefits on the treated area.
How often can i get a kybella treatment?
The number of Kybella sessions you will need depends on our recommendation. Treatment sessions are usually undergone a month apart. Most patients need more than one treatment to completely eliminate their double chin– generally, patients undergo up to 6 treatment sessions.
How long until i see results from a kybella treatment?
A Kybella injection destroys fat cells for visible results in 2 to 4 months. A commitment to a healthy lifestyle can help you get faster, better, and long-lasting results.
